Well Hello! – its been a little while?! Hope your’e all enjoying this sunny weather!?
We’re so fortunate to be a part of an engaging and supportive instagram community that we’re asked to go on trips, rep and review products and places. I’ve mentioned this before but I’d only ever accept or work with a brand or company that Alden and I would like and support normally and that I think our followers would too.
When we were contacted by Tonic Consultancy they told me that Coral Island had seen our feed and would like to work with us and invite us along to their leisure destination. I was excited, I’ve never been to Blackpool before and Alden saw the toy story 4 prizes on their instagram and said “Mammy’s gonna win Forky” . We agreed on a date and started organising our road trip down there.
Ive just started our Youtube Channel, and decided to Vlog the trip and post it as our first VLOG. The drive down there was lovely, around 3 hours from Northumberland – we knew we were hitting Blackpool when we saw the famous Tower – Coral Island was easy to find and absolutely incredible from the outside the authentic themed decor was so big it was hard not to miss it! We parked just around the corner past a little market. The parking wasn’t expensive and there was payment by coin, card or contactless so its easy.
I couldn’t believe how decorated the outside was but it followed in all the way through the amusements. There was treasure chests, canon balls, pirate’s and ships all over – the attention to detail was incredible.
We headed to the Prize Shop to collect our VIP loot bag, which had prizes, sweets free tickets and also free turns on the Camel Derby and unlimited rides on the ghost train and Pirate Flyer. We were also kindly given £30 cash in £1, 10p and 2p so we could get straight into playing the many games and have some fun!
Around the amusements there really was something for everyone, there was 2p machines that took me straight back to my childhood, there was fun games of bowling, basketball, wheel of fortune style ticket winning machines, claw grabbing machines with so many different themed and character toys – ride ons – arcade games, vortex games – and so many more – the virtual reality game id heard was a lot of fun but was unfortunately off and out of bounds on the day we attended. You could see the pirate flyer going around its tracks above our heads – it looked so fun but unfortunately my little dude was a bit afraid of the entrance so we couldn’t entice him on – there’s also a ghost train ride if you’re feeling brave enough!
We were given food tickets for the fish and chip restaurant that was onsite, they have five family friendly restaurants so there is something for everyone and every budget – a family of four can dine for under £10 at Peggy’s Family Snack Bar which serves breakfast lunch and dinner. We ordered fish and chips, sausage and chips and a kids portion of chicken nuggets and chips for Alden. I’m from a fishing village in Northumberland, where people come for fish and chips but I have to say these were thee nicest i’ve tasted – ever – the gravy was even so tasty! The portion sizes were very generous and the service in the restaurant was amazing too – the lady behind the till was asking where we’d come from and being so friendly.
Our favourite game was the camel derby, which was so much fun, Alden won a giant froggy plush and also a smaller cactus plush too – we headed to the claw grabbers and used the rest of the money to win a toy there – Richard who we’d met earlier that day was so helpful, kind and great with Alden he made sure that Alden went home with a Forky teddy.
We had such a fun time at Coral Island, if you’re heading down Blackpool way i’d say its definitely worth a visit – there’s so much to do and many places to eat it’s easy and fun to spend the day there. Kids also eat free all day every day, with a paying adult, in all of the restaurants so it’s budget friendly and the food is amazing. There is also a chance to win a Mini if you head down during July and enter your details.

I live about an hour away from Blackpool and visit quite often as I have family that live there. My son’s favourite place on earth is Coral Island, he absolutely loves it! He’s 3 by the way. We always have such fun when we go
